My wife and I visited Lagoon on Sunday to check out the car show. I took the opportunity to snap a couple of photos showing the Frightmares stuff appearing.


Always a good sign to see because I enjoy the Frightmares season.


The paneling is up on all the houses.


Is this a new entrance? I was not able to go to Frightmares last year, so I am not sure if this is new or not. If it is new, I kind of expected to see something different beause of the cement planters that Lagoon installed in front of the Davis Pavilion. Those new planters made it so Lagoon could not use the facade they have used for years on Pavilion.


After seeing the movie posters originally used on Haunted Hollywood years ago, I suspect we are going to see horror movie rooms like mwoods244 stated. Most likely a reimagining of the old Haunted Hollywood house. It will be interesting to see what Lagoon does this year with the new house.

OH YESS!! I'm so excited for backlot you guys have no idea.

I am now starting to like the look of Backlot. They could use many of the things from Decetion, making it be "movie magic" and bring back Haunted Hollywood with it. If it's executed right, and have good scares unlike Nightwalk, this could become a great haunt! Now, if they are resurrecting old haunts like they are, we could see Halloween High come back in a different form in the future.

You can barely see the Fun House of Fear logo on the left side of the shot. Other than that, I saw no other work done on this side besides the extended entrance.

Actually Lagoon is having special openings for Frightmares on the 18th & 19th cause of UEA. Backlot will be loke haunted hollywood and have stuff from movies. Sorry if that was already posted but im at the Utah State Fair and doing this on my iphone.

Oh, i thought that was just another view of the new deception entrance. I thought that the new deception entrance was on the right side of that. But, seems to me that the entrance would leave the line in a awkward position that could cause a traffic jam in the midway. Could it be maybe this is a new exit for Backlot or fun house of fear? (Or one big one haunt for that matter.)
Also, upon checking lagoon's webpage I found that the scary crows maze is NOW in pioneer village! How is it we missed this? Maybe lagoon is planning to set up phsyco daves in that area previously occupied by the maze and have it be a walk through you can go through as many times as you please. I must say, I am very excited to see what the maze has to offer in pioneer village.

It would be the new entrance for the Backlot, and takes place of Deception, which is not coming back this year. They set up the line entrance to be like that so the line will hopefully spill out toward Bat, and not Air Race. It would cause a huge traffic jam nowadays with just the Fun House of Fear and Air Race line. Makes sense they try to divert one of the lines to go a different way.
