Me and my sister have been off in Spain and Norway for the past couple weeks and I took the opportunity to visit Port Aventura on June 5. Spain and Norway are awesome by the way! I cannot wait to go back!

I missed a couple credits because of ride breakdowns and lack of time and Furious Baco was closed the entire day. Oh well, have to get them next time I go back!

Ride Reviews:

Hurakan Condor- An Intamin drop tower. Holy crap was this ride amazing. The tallest drop ride I have been on at 100 meters tall and by far the best.

The stand-up floorless cars added extra thrill as well as the surprise it held for me at the top that I was not expecting and the drop into the building below through the tiny looking hole in the top. 10/10 would ride again.

Dragon Kahn- This sit-down B&M looper has been highly praised everywhere so I was quite pumped to ride it. It lived up to its reputation for sure! It was very intense and smooth.

My only real big complaint would be the first drop seems extremely underwhelming with Shambhala Towering over it now. 9/10

El Diablo- Boring mine train with a billion lift hills. 4/10

Stampida- A racing wooden roller coaster that would have been a pretty great ride but was horribly rough. Definitely the most rough wooden roller coaster I have been on by a large margin.

I Still had good racing parts and some fun sections, plus my back has been feeling a lot better and able to stand up to the beating it endured so I still had fun. 6/10

Shambhala- Wait and see! Tongue

Pictures coming soon! I got back late yesterday and have some stuff to do. Hopefully I can post them once I get back from work tomorrow

Sorry about the delay, I had to make excuses for posting this and stuff.

So here is the view in the morning from my hostel in Barcelona. Pretty cool eh? Ignore the 13 other people sleeping behind the camera...

The park is about an hour and a half train ride down the Mediterranean coast.

The skyline is really impressive. (Taken from the train)

There, I have proven I was there, haters. I'll talk about that sexy beast later, right after I talk about Shambhala.

Here we are in America.

Patriotism... yeah...

There are some rides n' stuff. I didn't ride this one.

Or this one...

... Or this one Frown
The thing about Spain is, if it isn't broken already, it will break down. This applied to the park as well.

I did ride this one!

Here it is during the most exciting part of the ride: the dueling lift hill.

This ride exists... I promise this park is amazing, just wait.

YES! Oh man this drop tower is good. First ride to make me scared in a long while. It did follow the Spain law of reliability breaking down while I was in line.

This park is right up there with Disney and Universal as far as landscaping goes.

They had lots of show and stuff too.

After a quick visit to the "man toilets" we begin the organized section of this trip report.

I don't know what that says but I assume that means we are in the China section.

Dragon Kahn is a really intense ride.

They must have repainted Dragon Kahn for the opening of Shambhala because it looked great!

MMMmmmmmmmmmmmm

This ride however is the star of the park.

It towers over everything and can be seen pretty much everywhere in the park.

Modern B&M hyper coasters have been called tame and weak. This is not one. None of the brakes slowed you down until the end and every hill had ejector airtime.

The splashdown was really well done, you could see it even if you are sitting in the front.

The park is really close to the coast.

Shambhala is my new favorite roller coaster. It is awesome and I sacrificed other getting more credits to ride it 3 times. Completely worth it.

PortAventura is great. If you are in the Barcelona area and have time, go for sure!

Ask me about my trip and how I got half-price tickets to the park next time I go to a potluck. Tongue

There are two pretty great looking parks as well in Madrid! I was busy doing other awesome things while I was there though. One park was even within walking distance of the Royal Palace of Madrid. I also missed a park near Oslo, Norway. :/
