That's funny, because I'm sure that you have no idea what you're talking about. The mechanical aspects of the previous Bonanza game were much more complex, and much more likely to break for that reason. Wink

Well they could of just made a few changes, not take out all the scenery and totally change the whole attraction around. It isn't Pioneer themed and that is what I miss. Take Musik Express for example, they made it only go forwards. Or Cliffhanger, no back seats anymore. They can always improvise and it would cost less and attract people more.

/\ Why can't you read what we're saying? The game just wasn't making enough money anymore and it was too high maintenance (even if they did just remove some aspects of it). They had to completely remodel it to stop losing money.

Ok, but I have never seen it busy after the change.
That was sure a big mistake. But Ducky, the popularity would still create an equal, and what are you talking about loosing popularity? I thought it was always popular until then.

RE: Bonanza Change
The old Bonanza shooting gallery was fun, but I do not believe it made enough money to justify keeping it operating as it was. I have been trying to find pictures or videos of this game before they changed it to the game it is today. Does anyone have any pictures or videos of the old shooting gallery? I would even take pictures of a version other than Lagoon's if they are out there.

The current Bonanza game is a bunch of fun as well. My wife and I tried the game a couple of times last year and found it to be rather challenging.

When I go to Disneyland I will take a couple of pictures because I believe it is an exact copy, or If not, it still looks like about the same idea.

RE: Bonanza Change
Please Allow Me to Break this Down for You UtahDude!

Broken Game = High Maintenance Costs = Lower Revenue = BAD! Frown

NEW Bonanza = Lower Maintenance Costs = Higher Revenue = Good! Smile

The End.

Older Target Shooting Games, like Fascination Parlors, are becoming rarer due to their age and lack of parts. In Bonanza's Final Years, more and more Guns were Broken at times they would only have a handful operating. The New Bonanza, which Lagoon built Completely In-House I might add, is a very fun game which I enjoy more than the previous incarnation.

I cannot tell you how many times Disneyland has threatened to Remove their Shooting Game like Bonanza! Knott's finally threw in the towel on theirs last year and installed a Panda Express in it's place, guess what makes more revenue? Laugh

Sure I miss the OLD Bonanza especially the Piano Guy and Song, as it brings back many childhood memories, but I also understand why Lagoon made the decision it did. Like I said, I enjoy the new version more than the old. Wink

Will, I will have to look and see if I have any old pics; we use to like to piss off the operator of the game and use a flash on a camera to set off all the props at once. Wink

That is funny. I was not aware that a camera flash would do that to the game. If only I had known, I would have had so much fun. Happy

Yeah it really didn't help the operator when you made sure to do it when a bunch of young teens were playing then telling them they can get disposable cameras at the PV General Store. Devil
