The Top Eliminator is a very fun and fast paced ride. Two to four dragsters are pitted against each other in a race to see who has the fasted reaction and the fastest car. When the light hits green punch the gas, fly down the track, and have a blast!
This ride uses real dragster cars. There have been a few modifications to the car so that it stays and runs on the track. Plus the ride concept makes it easy to take the car back to the starting position. But that doesn't take away the racing thrill. Each driver has control over the brake and gas from the starting line to the finish line. The ride's computer automates bringing the cars back to the starting line.
The trick to winning a Top Eliminator race is quick reaction when the light hits the green and shifting at the right moment. Races are won and lost solely by the location on the track where a driver chooses to shift the cars.
Each lane is individually timed. So one driver may have a faster time, but actually crossed the finish line in last place. I bring this up so you don't get confused when your time is the best yet your place is number 4.
Some ride tower operators will even read each driver's reaction times off of the tower computer. It is an added benefit when the tower operator does this. If you ask one of the pit operators nice enough they will inform the tower operator that you would like to know your reaction times.
If you've got the 12 dollars to ride this ride, I would recommend it. I've ridden Top Eliminator many times and have enjoyed every experience. But I must warn you, this ride is a high maintenance ride and has it's fair share of problems (what do you expect when you run dragsters back and forth all day long). So don't be surprised if the ride is down when you want to ride or if it has problems when you are trying to ride.
