Lagoon is much like your average amusement park. You've got rides, games, well kept gardens, entertainment, and plenty of room to relax between rides. But unlike a lot of other amusement parks, Lagoon is one of the few remaining family owned parks. And because of this you can expect to see employees that are willing to go the extra mile to ensure you have a great day.
Lagoon is located roughly 17 miles north of Salt Lake City, Utah. The park was originally a bathing site along the beaches of the Great Salt Lake. When the waters started receding back in the late 1800's the park got moved inland to an area of land that had a small 9-acre lagoon. A new name for the resort was chosen to reflect it's new home and over the years that park has grown and developed into the Lagoon of today.
Lagoon does a great job of maintaining the park. Upon entering the gates you may notice how clean the park and rides are. Each morning starts very early for employees of Lagoon to get the park is ready and looking great for the guests that show up that day. On the same note, every ride is cleaned and thouroughly tested before the park opens to ensure that your safety is number one while enjoying the yourself.
Lagoon has a great collection of rides. If you enjoy thrill rides than the Rocket and Samurai are just a couple of the rides that will give you the thrill you are seeking. Or maybe you are a roller coaster fan. The Colossus and Spider are just 2 of Lagoon's 7 roller coasters. Lagoon also contains 2 classic haunted rides and one of the oldest still operating carousels in America.
Lagoon just doesn't focus on the people that enjoy the rides. There are also plenty of things to do for those non-riding types. Lagoon does a great job in the entertainment department. Excellent shows are put on during the summer for all types of people. Maybe you enjoy playing games. Lagoon has it's very own arcade and mini-golf course. Plus tons of games where you can test your skills and win a prize.
If you go on a hot day and would like to cool off, Lagoon-A-Beach is a great choice. Included in your all-day pass this water park offers a lazy river, tons of water slides, a couple of pools, and lots of grassy areas to relax in the shade. There is tons of water to cool off in and help make those hot days go by a little nicer.
Pioneer Village is another section of Lagoon that makes a great place to relax between all those thrill rides. Old buildings filled full of old items has been set up much like a small village would have been back in the early 1800's. Travel back in time as you walk up and down Main Street and admire Lagoon's collection of antiques. There is also plenty to do. 2 of Lagoon's water rides and a Stagecoach ride can be found in the village. You can also get an old time photo of you and your family to remember the trip or stop by the ice cream shop and get some good cold ice cream.
Lagoon has lots to do and see. No matter your reason for visiting the park, you are bound to enjoy yourself. Located on the right of this page at the top is a collection of links to other pages on the site that will take you on a virtual journey of the park and offer plenty of information.
