Jet Star was Lagoon's third roller coaster installed in the park. This ride was originally installed at the World's Fair in Spokane Washington during 1974. Lagoon purchased the ride shortly after the World's Fair finished and installed it at the park in 1976.
The Jet Star coaster has been a favorite at Lagoon since it's arrival. The unique spiral electric lift makes the start of this ride fun as you get a nice view of the ride and it's surroundings before you plunge down the first hill and start racing on the ride's tight turns and drops.
The inline seating makes the cars able to perform some very quick moves. This allows a very fun ride to take place in a small area. This ride is definitely worth it if you love quick action.
At the end of the 2004 season Jet Star was closed and dismantled. The ride was remanufactured and repainted. Instead of the Orange track and yellow supports, the ride now has yellow track pieces and red supports. The cars are now black with flames down the side.
The ride was worked on until the middle of the 2005 season when the ride was finally opened again after all the rework was done on the ride. Many people that ride it say it's very smooth now and runs great. The new paint job makes the ride stand out on the North Midway now and can't be missed.
If you haven't ridden the Jet Star since it opened back up, you are definitely missing a smooth and very fun ride.
