 Game Time is Lagoon’s own arcade located in the same building as Dracula’s Castle sitting on the south side of Skycoaster. The building that Game Time is located in was originally built to hold concerts and used to be called the Patio Gardens. For years big name bands used to play at Lagoon until they stopped holding concerts. It was then that the building was converted into a roller skating rink until the mid 70’s when the Penny Arcade opened up. In the late 70’s because of the popularity of the arcade Lagoon changed the name of it to Game Time and replaced many of the older penny games.
Since the time of it’s opening the arcade has been a good place to take a brief break from riding rides and get out of the sun. Many of the games allow players to earn tickets for which they can trade in later for novelty toys. The tickets can be redeemed at the prize counter located on the north wall inside the arcade.
An interesting note has crept up regarding Game Time. It is rumored that Lagoon wants to expand Dracula’s Castle. While we have no proof or evidence of this actually happening it is interesting to wonder if Game Time will remain in Lagoon’s near future.
