The Cyclone used to sit between Jet Star 2 and the Davis Pavilion. This ride basically looked like a giant top that spins and has cars swinging in and out. The ride contained 14 arms that swung alternately (in other words while 7 are swung up the other 7 are brought to the middle of the ride) while the entire structure rotates. The cars were swung to a height of 26 feet sending riders through the air creating a very pleasant ride sensation making it one ride that many people enjoyed.

Unfortunately the Cyclone wasn’t at Lagoon long enough for it to really make an impression on many people. The ride only lasted one year and according to Farmington Star this was due to the fact that Lagoon rented the ride from Worlds of Fun in Kanas City, Missouri. It’s unclear why Lagoon wanted this ride for one year because this ride model is a very popular attraction. Maybe Lagoon just wanted to test the waters and see how popular it would with the intention of buying one for themselves.

You can check out a photo of a Huss Swing Around model similar to the one Lagoon had by clicking here.
