So if you all know about the Screaming Serpent , Shark Run, & Rippin Rocket K'nex Coasters they used the classic style K'nex & Original Track System but they stopped selling them and started ONLY coming out with the Micro K'nex coasters which are HORRIBLE to make coaster models of your own when combining sets. Well they got input and ideas from fans at SSCoasters.net which is a site purely for K'nex fans for the coasters. Anyways K'nex made a press release of a few new coasters this fall of 2012 most are Micro sets which i dont really care about but one including a Classic style coaster with the tubing like everyone wants back again called "Son Of Serpent" like after "Screaming Serpent" its also like how there is "The Beast" and then was the "Son Of Beast".

The Screaming Serpent coaster had 1,280 pieces and only 1 motor, 1 lift hill, & only 3ft tall. Well these are the specs for "Son Of Serpent":

Son of Serpent Coaster
Authentic Steel coaster design
2 motorized chain lifts
estimated 8,000 pieces
5 rail hugging cars
14 K'nexman figures
Speakers for you MP3 player
over 5 feet tall and 7 feet long
Color coded instructions

Ages 16+

price: TBD

Down below is what the coaster will look like this was scanned from the 2012 catalog and looks really nice and is on my wishlist!

Now I just want to add on the site in the press release they had a suggested retail price of $999.99 which is WAY overpriced but in the catalog it has been changed to TBA for the price. They also said in the press Release that there was over 5,000 pieces which was alot less then whats in the catalog.

Also they have raised the age from the original Screaming Serpent, Rippin Rocket, & Shark Run Coasters from 10+ to 16+. Also they have added a 3rd tubing on some parts of the track from the picture and this one will have a station and brakes!

Its nice the K'nex is listing to their fans and bringing back this style of coasters cause everyone wants those sets to combine them and make bigger coaster models of their own.

Im also in the works of project(s) of buying a bunch of sets on Ebay and on KSL classifieds already bought 6 sets in the last 2 days on Ebay and am the highest bidder on all the other available sets on Ebay for the Screaming Serpent sets and then going to build my own models and take requests of coasters people want me to replicate and im going to make videos including a off ride and even onride POVs of the coasters and put htme on youtube!
Intense. I remember having the first K'nex roller coaster model. I had a full room in my parents house dedicated to K'nex and legos. The room featured an entire amusement park. I wish I had pictures with me. I had a manually operational lego Skycoaster and S&S drop tower. Other items included a stationary Schwarzkopf shuttle looper, maze (connected to the restrooms), Wild West Show (lego model) , Pirate Show (lego model), bungee jump off the middle structure of the K'nex roller coaster, train set, looping car set, racetrack, makeshift waterpark with a marble race contraption and a huge concert stage with multiple levels and production elements.

Kind of makes me miss my childhood. Growing up sucks. lol.

I wish I had these models growing up. I'm surprised that they have not taken off. Too bad I no longer have the room nor time to play with these things...

Those are nice but pricy! You also dont have to grow up. By next week I have 16 + Knex Coaster sets including one Rippin Rocket and 15 Screamin Serpant Coasters, 1 Shark Run, & 2 Original Knex Coasters (For Parts Since the track is a different type then the other sets) to build big scale models. That will be a total of 24,600 pieces and should have more by the end of the week!

The reason they are pricey is because it is a small company catering to a niche market. Their kits are totally unmatched! Smile
I see, so do they come pre built like that or do you have to build them?

Ok, I though you had to build/glue each beam piece by piece. But I was wrong I looked at the Giant Dipper set and its got in the box in pieces but like in sections so thats good. I was like wow that would take time!
